Employees at Riviera Beach have voted resoundingly for SEIU-FPSU!

It is official. The recent attempt to decertify SEIU Florida Public Services Union has been rejected two-to-one by employees (47–20–3)! That means that our 30 year old bargaining unit, and the benefits we have fought for together will remain in place along with historic raises of up to 30%. We would like to thank our members and organizers who stood together over the past six months to ensure public employees at Riviera Beach have a voice that truly represents us at work and in our communities.

Historic Raises Bargained by Members for Members

SEIU represented employees at Riviera Beach successfully ratified their collective bargaining agreement in August and salary increases of up to 30% are hitting workers paychecks. These increases vary but all are based on a salary comparison with similar public employers in Palm Beach County. Those that were farthest behind in that study will be seeing the largest increases, while a small number of workers (many of them union members) with pay already in line with the market, may not receive an increase in the first year of the agreement.
In addition, the agreement includes, among other changes, a new education reimbursement policy, expands compassionate leave benefits, adds an additional holiday (Juneteenth), a higher boot allowance, and sets the table for hazardous pay for workers performing job-related hazardous duty roles.
