All Bargaining Units have voted to approve the new Contract!!
Hello HC Workers,
After 5 days of voting, the Non-instructional, Professional, and Supervisory bargaining units have voted to ratify the new 2026-29 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA)!
SEIU – FPSU want to specifically mention the hard work of your Union Leaders and Stewards who worked very hard to represent their fellow workers and reach this, now ratified, CBA.
Next Steps
The agreement must now go before the HC Board of Trustees at the 8/26 Meeting for their vote. It will be held at the Dr. Gwendolyn W. Stephenson District Administration Center Board Room at 4pm.
Retro Pay?
When the Board ratifies the agreement, that is the final step. Management will begin to work on the the retro pay. We do not have any information on when Retro Pay will be completed, but will pass along any information when and if we receive it.
Ratification Key Updates
Wages and Benefits
- Staff will receive a 3% salary schedule increase effective July 1, 2026.
- Full-time staff hired before January 1, 2026, will receive one step increase.
- Shift differentials will increase from $0.65 to $1.00.
- Education reimbursement now covers courses taken during Summer Semesters.
- Provision for payout of Sick Time upon leaving the college.
Personnel and Operations
- Personnel Reduction notification requirements are extended from 30 to 60 days.
- Subcontracting includes increased notification requirements and health insurance-related updates.
- Evaluations includes changes to the evaluation process.
