Wage TA and Bereavement Leave MOU have been Ratified!

Pinellas County School Workers,

Voting has concluded and the Wage ReOpener TA and Bereavement Leave MOU have been ratified by the workers. Thank you to all Union Leaders, Union Stewards, and workers that participated.

With these being approved by the workers, here are the next steps:

The TA and MOU will now have to go the School Board for their vote to ratify. If they vote to approve the TA, the agreements will be fully ratified. Next Board meeting is 10/13/26.

When will I get my Raise and Retro Pay?

Once the TA has been fully ratified by all parties, the District will then begin to implement the wage changes. There is no definitive timeline on when, but it can take two pay periods for the raises and retro pay to be implemented. If we receive any specific information on when you will receive the increase, we will pass that along.

Summary of the TA:

Wages: 2.5% increase Across the Board for all workers, retro back to July 1, 2026

Referendum Pay: total annual pay for Full Time workers from $2,910 to $3,478. An increase of $568 for this year. Part time increases are pro-rated based on contract hours.

New Benefit: Bereavement Leave MOU, 2 paid days per qualifying incident for all workers.

Shuttle Routes: establishes bidding by seniority.

Disaster and Emergency Policy: Clarifies the conditions for accessing Premium Pay for workers assigned to Disaster and Emergency Duty.

Older Bargaining Updates from Summer 2025

Your member-led bargaining committee met with management this week for our first bargaining session. This year’s bargaining sessions will be a re-opener only, not the full agreement. This means that only a few articles are opened” salaries, health benefits, general provisions, and departmental operations are included.

Management submitted a wage proposal which you can see on your Union’s website, where we will post all updates through this process.

In our session, management provided an update on the budget and financial picture of the District.

In addition, Management has proposed a 3.25% wage increase. Part of this increase is from the Referendum Pay, which Pinellas County voters approved in 2024, and was implemented last school year.

Last year contracted 8hr workers received $2,910 in referendum pay for the year. Management’s proposal is to increase that amount by $541 to $3,451. As you can see from management’s proposal this is roughly a 1.71% increase.

The remainder of the 3.25% increase is proposed to be in base wages, though no specific amounts were proposed to the wage table.
