A strong union means solidarity, leadership, and collective action. To keep our workplaces protected and our rights secure, we need dedicated members to step up as Union Stewards—the frontline leaders who ensure workers are informed, empowered, and supported.
Members are organizing to train and develop new Union Stewards who will help build power in the workplace. All current members are encouraged to attend Union Steward training, and those interested in taking on a leadership role should connect with a current Steward or Union Organizer.

AESOP Status
We know many of you are concerned about AESOP’s status, and we want to reassure you that your union is fully committed to protecting your rights and benefits during this critical time.
AESOP’s Current Status
While AESOP’s certification is currently in limbo due to the 60% threshold required under the new law, it is important to know that the School District is required to maintain the status quo on your contract protections. This critical protection is in place because AESOP workers stood united with their union, and SEIU FPSU filed for certification last year. As a result, your wages, benefits, and workplace rights remain intact while we await PERC (the government agency overseeing unions) to issue an Election Order. Once the election is called, we will immediately reopen full contract negotiations to secure even more improvements.
Our Fight for You
FPSU is actively holding the district accountable to ensure they honor the status quo of your contract. We are working to enforce and defend the protections and benefits you’ve worked so hard to achieve. Additionally, we are making sure that AESOP workers receive the 4% wage increase already provided to non-represented workers.
Your Role Is Critical
The upcoming PERC election will decide our ability to keep fighting for your future. Without full support from AESOP workers, the protections, wages, and benefits you currently have could be at risk.
