Dear Union Members,
There are important changes to SEIU Florida Public Services Union’s Constitution and Bylaws to ensure we are keeping up with the growing needs of our expanding Union. Voting is open to FPSU’s Members in Good Standing only.
The proposed amendments are mainly related to Article V (Membership Categories), Article VII (Governance Structure)) and Article IX (Elections).
These changes are mainly related to creating a minimum dues paying requirements for participation in the Union’s internal democracy, ensuring representation of our newly organized Higher Education units, expanding represented geographies and also to ensure a smooth transition of power for the Executive Officers of the SEIU Florida Public Services Union.
Changes to the Constitution and Bylaws are shown on the enclosed proposed amendments in red. Deletions of language are shown as struck out and additions of language are shown as underlined.
The ballots will be mailed to all dues paying members on September 6th and will need to be returned by 5:00pm on September 22nd.
Union is organizing a meeting of all dues paying members to review the changes and answer any questions you may have on September 3rd (Saturday) from 10:30-11:30am.
For questions please contact SEIU Florida Public Services Union at 561-965-0077
