VOICES FROM THE FRONTLINE
Every student, teacher, and parent relies on non-instructional school employees—yet their struggles are invisible. These workers ensure our children are transported safely, fed nutritious meals, and supported in the classroom. But behind the scenes, many of them face poverty, job insecurity, and a lack of respect.
Some workers have been serving the district for decades yet still make wages that leave them living paycheck to paycheck. Others have had to move into trailers, work multiple jobs, or sacrifice medical care because they simply cannot afford it. They take care of our students, but who is taking care of them?
This is a call to action. The school board and district leaders must recognize that a school cannot succeed without its support staff. Fair wages, affordable healthcare, and dignity in the workplace should not be up for debate.
Our schools thrive when our workers thrive. It’s time to demand better. Join the movement to fight for justice for school district employees.
