Floridians have some of the highest electricity bills in the nation. On average, electricity users in Florida spend about $249 per month on electricity. That adds up to $2,988 per year. That’s 16% higher than the national average electric bill.
Outdated energy efficiency policies at the Florida Public Service Commission – the agency that sets energy savings goals for the state’s largest power companies – are a roadblock to commonsense energy solutions that would help everybody.
FPL is putting dirty money in politics to prevent worker friendly candidates from getting elected. Florida Public Service commission is in the pocket of big utilities and is acting more like a lapdog than a watchdog. Especially because DeSantis is appointing FPL’s cronies rather than doing what is right for working families. Our endorsed candidates will not allow this to continue.
