“Today is a grim day in the history of the United States as the Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade taking away women’s fundamental right to abortion, sending us back 50 years.

This is taking away our rights and freedom to make deep personal choices about our own lives. The decision is also particularly concerning as it now sets a precedent to question other protections of our rights such as marriage equality, voting rights, worker rights, etc.

As a direct result of this ruling, more women will be forced to choose between paying their rent, providing for their families or traveling long distances to receive safe healthcare.
